  • I'm switching to online high school starting this December.
I live in Florida and plan on using FLVS... http://www.flvs.net/
It's free for me... since I do live in Florida. However there are not a variety to choose from for electives. Are there any other free or fairly cheap (price wise) and reliable online schools? If you could help me out in any way that would be great.

  • This is not actually a homeschool. It's a public school online, an alternative education program. "Free" for you means taxpayer-supported. If you are looking for other taxpayer-supported programs, I have heard that K12 is decent.

Anyone can use the word homeschooling in their advertising. If you look at their About page, you'll see that it's a public school Homeschooling means that you are independent of the government school system. This is not homeschooling. It's still better than government schooling ;-).

  • The other 2 free programs that I'm familiar with are Kaplan and Connections Academy.
    Best of Luck!
