welcome to my space

  • I've been thinking of donating most of my stuff to different charities, but the only ones I know of are those that just sell stuff for profit, rather than to help a good cause. I know I have a lot of toys that children would love to play with, but I would like to give them to kids who really have nothing. I also have clothes I'd like to give to people who have nothing, and the places I know of will only sell for profit, and anyone can buy the clothes, which I really don't want.

I have no problem giving, I would just like to be able to give to those who do not have, instead of those who don't wanna spend more for what they want so they can have the money to buy their nice cars (I know someone like this).

It doesn't matter what state it's in, I can either find a way to get it there or look for that kind of charity in my area. Thanks for any help.

  • give to your local homeless shelter or orphanage
im sure they would really appreciate it

  • Take them to a women's shelter.

  • A couple of days ago I found freecycle.com listed in an answer here. You give your stuff away to someone who wants it, and needs it! If you are looking for the charitable deduction however contact the local women's sheltler or a halfway house.
I did the math a few years ago and in the state of Oregon a person with 2 children and a part time job was making about 75,000.00 dollars a year (I added free medical vision and dental, free daycare, free food, free school lunches, EIC, emergency services, bus passes and housing assistance but that was the actual number. So, please be aware that having "nothing" is not being on public assistance.
