I'll be purchasing this soon, I just wanted to ask here first if anyone can recommend a comparable bag (holds around some amt. of equipment) that might be superior in some way. I guess a bag is pretty much a bag, just figured it's worth asking first. Thanks.

  • I have seen the canon bag in store, it looks good.

    Sigh, decisions decisions.

  • I have a Tamrac bag and I'm pretty pleased with it. It's got plenty of room in it.

  • I have no idea of the quality of that Canon bag...it might be OK but maybe not. Camera bags are best looked at first hand. Find a well stocked camera store and see what they have. Bring your gear if you have to, just to see how well it will fit.

Lowepro bags can be expensive as well...but I can attest to their high quality. I have several of them.

  • the tamrac 5608 looks pretty sweet, although it's double the price.

I second that. I have a Lowepro and have travelled with it and worn it many times now over 10 hours at a shot. Good quality, very comfortable and strong. Expensive is relative... but they sure are not giving them away... lol.

  • Canon doesn't make bags (AFAIK)...it's just re-branded.

I would suggest looking at Lowepro, Crumpler, Tamrak etc.
